Riley Lai's Gaming Corner
Riley Lai is my acquaintance from my school in Fremont, CA. Our teacher tasked us with writing a post regarding the claim proposed by a similar topic blog. Knowing he has a blog about games I chose to right my post about his claims about the game he writes about.Link provided below to interested viewers.
http://rlblogthing.blogspot.com/
At first sight his posts appear to be a brief summary of the game as well as how he suggests they should be played. A closer looks can separate his posts into specific parts. First he addresses what kind of genre the game is allowing viewers to see just what kind of game they would be trying out. An example would be on his claim addressing League of Legends being a MOBA and its rising popularity. He then addresses what they can expect the game will require in terms of knowledge or how you could add to the fun like play with friends.
So now that we have talked about how he arranges his blog posts you should notice that he addresses a specific point of each game that is its selling point as his claim. For his most recent post about League of legends to his first post about Dragon nest he points out why players are drawn to these games. For League of Legends it was that its fun to play in a team of five and requires team work to prevail. This is a great claim and has large amounts of proof to back it up. Then Dragon Nest main selling point was its highly interactive combat interface. I have played all of these games and support the claims written about. So if you ever have time to spare read his blog and don't forget to take your friends!
Me talking about games i think are worth talking about :D, and my homeworks :3

DMC: Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry
Background
Devil May Cry is a fast paced hack and slash action game developed by Ninja Theory and published by Capcom being the fifth installation in the series even though it is a retelling of Dante's origin. This game was given moderate reviews for story but great reviews to its action paced combat which it is well known for. Inheriting the same ideals as previous Devil May Cry games in its series, Dante wields rebellion, Ebony and Ivory and other new weapons which can be chained together for flashy combinations.
Specs Required
Devil May Cry Windows Requirements
OS: Windows XP/Vista Home Premium/ 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo 4200 2.4 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
Disc Space: 9 GB
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 4850/ Nividia GeForce 8800 GTS
My Opinion
I am a fan of this series and find this to be one of the most action packed ones of them all. The story itself is still full of detail and focuses on a more realistic Dante instead of the one we already know. The introduction was epic as you start off fast, being able to evolve into a demon slaying pro even faster. As I progressed through the game the combat started to escalate as so did my fighting style. This game is very skill reliant and has a steep learning curve which makes it a challenge for players everywhere.
The possibilities are endless altering every second as you have numerous weapons to fight with. The weapons are Rebellion, Ebony and Ivory, Revenant, Eryx, Arbiter, Osiris, and Aqualia. There are also different Monsters that require you to equip certain weapons to avoid their attacks making it all the harder to fight. You can also compare your scores with other players to see how you did in missions. This game is a must play for action lovers because of the visual effects and game play.
Where to get it!
Yes it is available on steam with the price between $40-$50 and may be reduced during sales event on the franchise.

Dead Space 3
Dead Space 3
Background
Dead space 3 is part of a saga which was developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts. This game was very well received by the gaming populace and has grown into a classic must play.
Issac Clarke is the series main protagonist who has a history with an Alien Device called the Marker. The Marker is a relic left behind by an unknown race with powers beyond human understanding. Issac first encountered the threat when he was sent to the USS Ishimura planet cracker for maintenance. Him an his companions then encountered the remains of a human which spontaneously morphed into a Necromorph which then separated Issac from his companions.
He was forced to escape and fight off these monstrosities alone until finding his companions once again. When they reunited they were quickly picked off by the Necromorphs leaving Issac to find his way off the Ishimura alone. After finally escaping the ship he was haunted by nightmares which were the key to making another marker. A group of people called Unitologists believed the marker to be their salvation and hunted Issac and used his memories to recreate a marker of untold scale leaving Issac to destroy it. Along the way he me meets a girl named Elise who was dragged into the mess and they help each other to escape. They work together to destroy the new marker created and escape. After two years the Unitologists find Issac and wish to kill him to prevent such an event to ever occur again and so starts Dead Space 3.

Dead Space 3 Windows Requirements
OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor: 2.8 GHz
Memory: 2 GB
Disc Space: 10.5 GB
Video Card: Nividia GeForce 6800/ ATI X1600 Pro
My Opinion
This game is a meant to be played in a series so do not start with the third right off the bat. The game itself is made very well. At the start it picks off about a year later from the previous Marker event showing Issac and Elise have broken up and Issac's life in shambles. The action quickly picks up giving me the same caged in feeling like previous games in the series. Necromorphs come at the least susceptible moment giving you a scare. I always find myself alone in combat and often have to resort to run due to the lack of ammunition or having been caged in. The appealing aspects of this game as I have found is that its always giving me a scare and the customization possibilities you can do for character and weapon.Whether you prefer to melee or out-range the onslaughts are up to you. The story is intricate as well, always keeping you on edge and providing just enough information but not a lot leaving you to fill in the blanks. There are many bonus missions and puzzles to be solved to help immerse yourself in the apocalyptic world.
Where to get it!
Yes it is available on steam with the price above $50 as of this month but the price is well worth it.
Available on Amazon as well if you want a CD but may be more costly because of the non-changing price and shipping.
